Such is the power of drumming and dancing, to touch the souls of those who hear its rhythm. ‘As above’ in Ghana means wild dancing. In an African community, beating the drum gives one another a welcoming sense of belonging. It is a time to connect with each other and be part of that collective rhythm of life in which young and old, rich and poor, men and women, all join in with a common goal, which is to dance. Artist Statement This artwork is raw edge, machine appliqued and machine quilted with Kente prints as the fabric of choice. The quilt has a black binding and hanging sleeve attached at the back. Measure around the neck at the neck.

Measure around your bust where it is wider by placing the tape measure under the arms and over the shoulder blades.

Measure in the hollow of the waist.

Keep your feet together and measure the widest part.
Crotch tower
Measure the top of the crotch up to the ankle bone.
