About the material and its care: African batik fabric is a hand painted, high-quality cotton fabric, non-stretch (!), densely woven and very durable. At the beginning, the fabric can be a little bit stiff but becomes very soft and pleasant after a few days of wearing or a few washes. It should be washed at 40 degrees. During the FIRST wash, African clothes should be separated from other clothes in order to prevent color transfer! Length/width shrinkage should not be the case for African fabric. Cotton jersey (used as waist cuff and/or ankle cuff) is also a high-quality material, produced at our local factory. It is stretchy and therefore adjustable. Length/width shrinkage is max. 3%.
