This collection of poems encompasses more than fifty years of writing. The texts focus on three themes: Love for Congo-Kinshasa and Africa, Nature, the Cry for Congolese and African Man. This poetic triptych reflects the author's ardent passion for his country and his continent with a watermark of his pain and frustration in the face of injustice and the exploitation of his homeland by internal and external enemies. The touching and heartbreaking texts of this book denounce the looting of the Congo's natural resources, the unpunished crimes and the indifference of the international community. It is a work that seizes the soul, awakens the spirit and sets the heart ablaze. The author invites us on a bewitching journey through the paths of beauty, suffering and strength of the Congolese people. A man of complete culture, LMK was born in Demba, in Kasaï, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Trained as a historian, art critic, journalist and writer, he has won numerous national and international prizes, including the 1st prize for poetry from the Institute for Higher Education in Languages (FSI) in the United States, the international prize from AFAL for Francophonie in France and the 1986 NEMIS Prize from Chile. Honorary President of the Congolese section of the International Association of Art Critics and former lecturer in aesthetics and history of contemporary art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, he worked as editor of several newspapers and magazines in Kinshasa. A member of the steering committee of cultural and artistic associations in his country for more than two decades, LMK is currently dedicated to teaching and research.

Poetry
