A vibrant womenswear brand employing indigenous prints crafted into styles that are both functional and timeless.
We aim to do our part in sharing the African story through our prints and pieces; while striving to give our customers a luxury brand experience within the premium space and our employees an enjoyable working environment.
The Kwelaku woman has a deep appreciation for African culture & craftsmanship. She is self-assured and embodies effortless elegance.
Kwelaku was started as Kancky, a tribal tunic line started from the founder’s campus room back in 2014, styling mostly family and friends. The brand has now evolved into a full-fledged womenswear label, operating out of her Lagos HQ and adorning women from all walks of life and every part of the world.
The Kwelaku brand is multifaceted, offering different categories of women’s clothing under the following main divisions:
-Kwelaku Hand Dyed- consisting of artisanal batik and indigo masterpieces
-Kwelaku Indigenous- consisting of digital tribal print pieces
-Kwelaku Essentials- consisting of solids in our signature silhouettes.
Kwelaku’s vision is to keep impacting the community positively through sustainable collaborations that showcase culture & craftmanship for many generations to come.

The material is of the highest quality and the seams are invisible! 😍 I also realised that it is reversible too; the material lining the dress is so lush, and the fringe is firmly attached, so it doesn’t shed. Additionally, the customer service and communication is spectacular. I had such a pleasant experience, so I ordered another dress. 😍🤩 Highly recommend 🙂
everything was great! the outfit is beeaautiful. it's heavier than I thought (though still lovely. soft material) so it's perhaps more summer evening vibes or for a slightly cooler day
