Custom shoes built in Douala and exported direct to you.

Our story:
In the 1960s, the city of Douala in Cameroon produced and exported 6 000 000 pairs of shoes per year. “Pas un pas sans ma Bata” people used to say. Then many things went wrong. Deregulation of the import of second-hand clothing in the 1980s, devaluation of the currency in the 1990s, free Chinese import in the 2000s, free shoes distributed by European and American NGOs in 2010s... The Cameroonian footwear industry died a slow death.
In 2014 in visit there we saw and asked: “why do you import shoes when with your wood you can manufacture shoes that are100% natural, healthy and eco-friendly?”
We partnered with the last local shoemakers and started hiring and training a new generation.
In 2017 we opened the first fair trade clog factory in Africa. OMES was born.
The long tradition of Douala shoemaking continues.

3. DELIVERY
3.1. All our shoes are shipped from Cameroon with the national post service. Delivery to Europe is 2 weeks in average and the rest of the world 3-4 weeks.
3.2. When placing your order, please provide a telephone number. We will need it when we ship.

4. PRODUCTS
All our products available on Afrikrea.com are made to order and can be customised on request.

5. WHOLESALE

7. PHOTOS DISCLAIMER
7.1.The motifs on the upper of shoes made with non plain fabrics, for example African wax print, may vary from the final product because the exact design patterns do not repeat on all parts of the fabric.
7.2.The colour of the wood in the photograph may vary from the final product you receive due to one or more of the following reasons:
-Wood from trees grown in different areas display different colour tones even though they are from the same species.
-Wood is a natural product and no two pieces are the same.
- The wood used to make the products from which the photographs were taken may vary from the wood used to make the products you will receive. There may be twigs/knots and grains may vary in colour.
- The colour setting and resolution of individual monitors is variable and limited in accuracy.
- Photographs viewed at website resolutions may be limited in colour accuracy.

8. RETURNS
Since the products are made to order, OMES does not accept exchange or return unless the product arrives damaged or defective. Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
